First UAE Banks Federation conference attended by top tier representatives of regional and international banks
Abu Dhabi, 9November 2013: The UAE Banks Federation, a professional representative body comprising 50 member banks operating in the UAE, has announced a strong field of sponsors for its first high level annual Forum to take place in Dubai on 26 November. The Middle East Banking Forum is the first conference to be hosted by the Federation and is being organised by the Financial Times Live and The Banker magazine.
Sponsors confirmed for the event include Emirates National Bank of Dubai, National Bank of Abu Dhabi, First Gulf Bank, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, MashreqBank, Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, Union National Bank,, National Bank of Fujeirah, Bank of Sharjah and Ajman Bank.
The Forum is by invitation only and is aimed at leaders of UAE Banks Federation member institutions as well as top tier representatives of regional and international banks and other organisations serving and operating in the UAE’s financial sector.
The agenda of the one day conference includes sessions on how banks succeed in the Middle East, innovation in retail banking, corporate banking, the UAE as a regional financial hub, next steps for Islamic banking and banking beyond borders.

The UAE banking sector’s assets have risen more than ten-fold from US$49 billion in 1995 to US$509 billion (net) in mid-2013. UAE non-oil nominal GDP rose from US$49 billion to US$229 billion in the same period.
